Hi, Welcome to empirical mama!
I am Pranali, a wife and stay at home mom to two adorable boys. My husband and I are raising our boys in beautiful Canada, where life is full of adventure and fun.
Fun facts about me,
- I am a vegetarian whole my life.
- I am not a big foodie. I eat to survive. Yet, I cook delicious meals for my family.
- I like to follow cultural tradition.
- I’m a hard-core introvert, I do like people, but I also like my alone time with books.
I completed Master’s of Science in infection and immunity from McMaster university, Canada. I spent 10+ years working in academic research (Basic science, Clinical research) and published several peer-reviewed articles in reputable journals. Here’s link to check out my work.
You can find more about me, including my professional qualifications, on my linkedin profile.
Once I started to figure out this mom thing, I quickly realized I needed something to let my inner voice herd.
How it All Started
“empirical mama” was conceived during one quite afternoon, over a baby nap time. After a birth of my second son, I decided to leave a world of academic science for time being, trading it for more time with my boys and opportunity to blog.
Without a lab bench and experiments to run, I found myself craving for something challenging to do with little time that I have during afternoon baby naps and in between evening soccer classes for elder son and doing house chores.
I do realize however, that motherhood is no different than those lab benches (always messy) and science experiments requiring patience, attention to detail, juggling, retrying, reinventing and ultimately accepting the end results.
When I started this blog, I knew nothing about blogging, no kidding ! In quest of starting a blog, I accidentally stumbled upon Wealthy Affiliate – an online training community that walk you through nitty gritty of how to,
- Start a blog
- Build your own website using Siterubix
- Understand keyword research process
- Optimize your site using word press
- Creating a content that get ranked on google
- And much more
and that too for free initially. Premium members get much more exposure on how to make money through your blog (affiliate marketing). I was skeptical initially about this online platform and all the promises that it makes.
As always, I like to do my research and experiments before I get myself involved into something that is online. But after joining Wealthy affiliate, I can tell you that, it’s best decision I have ever made. Let’s not get in to detail of this. If you would like to know more about it, join Wealthy Affiliate for free or contact me for detail.
On this blog, I do research about the parenting topics, sort out good and bad science and write tidbits about pregnancy, labor and delivery, breastfeeding and all things motherhood.
This blog is for expecting moms, new moms or struggling moms looking for tips, tricks, advice and recommendations to make life at home, just a bit easier.
Whether it be by helping you relieve heartburn or sciatica pain during pregnancy or increase milk supply for breastfeeding or helping your baby sleep again at night, my wish is that while you here with me, no matter where you are in the world or in what walk of life, that you feel inspired, loved, and motivated. My goal here is to help you not only survive motherhood but enjoy it!
Thank you for stopping by and feel free to contact me if you would like to get in touch.
